Remeet helps make meetings shorter, reduce their frequency, defragment calendars, decongest slots at the intersection of timezones, and eliminate the fear of missing out that causes over-inviting. But how do we know if all that really matters to remote companies?
And why do we care about remote companies in the first place?
At Remeet we believe that the future workplace for knowledge workers is remote. We see the rapid transformation from traditional companies to highly distributed ones, and more of them realize that remote-first is the only practical way of making distributed teams work. With that realization, more and more companies are starting out as remote-first. We believe those companies are on the leading edge of workplace transformation.
From our own experience, we know very well how important good communication is to highly distributed companies. Unfortunately, traditional meetings that have evolved in a physical office are fundamentally broken.
As it turns out, there is the whole RunningRemote conference dedicated to remote-first companies. Our team attended the very second conference, which happened just a few weeks ago. We were super excited to meet with so many remote work pioneers and advocates.
We would like to thank all the folks who took the time to complete the survey. We are also grateful to all the participants who came to our desk to see the demo and share their insights. We hope to see you all again at RR in Texas next year!
Let’s get back to the data now. We have prepared survey questions to determine how often people experience problems that Remeet solves. About 50 conference participants have completed the survey. We have segmented results into two relatively equal groups: those participating in fewer than 5 hours of meetings a week and those participating in more than 5 hours of meetings a week.
1. How often do you feel that a meeting should have been shorter?
2. How often do you feel you’ve spent too much time in meetings and did not have enough time to complete your work?
3. How often do you struggle from a fragmented calendar?
4. How often do you have difficulties scheduling urgent discussions due to conflicts with less urgent meetings that are already scheduled?
5. How often do you have problems scheduling a meeting due to all the recurring daily and weekly meetings?
6. How often do you feel that some of the meeting participants are either unnecessary or not engaged?
7. How often do you have to reschedule meetings due to changes in participants’ availability?
Based on the results, we see that not only are the problems Remeet solves highly relevant to remote companies, but their occurrence significantly increases with the number of meetings person has.
